Mental health amongst teenagers is at one of the worst it has been with 1 in 6 young people aged 5 to 16 in England experiencing a mental health problem in 2020. Some of the reasons behind a higher number of young people experiencing bad mental health are social media, the pandemic and lockdown, and the cost of living crisis. Therefore it is important that we take care of ourselves and learn ways to improve our overall wellbeing. Some examples of this are:

1) Exercise is one of the biggest recommandations to improve your mental health. It includes benefits such as: reducing depression and anxiety, improving your overall mode, improving energy and concernation levels, improving your self-esteem and improving sleep.

2) Sleeping at least 8 hours every night is also good for your overall health as it improves memory and focus levels, contributes to mood regulation and reduces stress.

3) Connecting with others such as family and friends can also be good for your mental wellbeing because it can provide you with a sense of belonging and self-worth as well as provide you with emotional support.

4) Acts of kindness are also good for your mental health becuase it helps you to connect with people and provides you with a sense of purpose and reward.

5) Learning a new skill can improve your mental wellbeing because it boosts your self-confidence, helps you connect with others, and helps you build a sense of purpose.
