A man has been taken to hospital after an incident at a residential block in Woolwich.

Concerns were raised for the welfare of a man in Herbert Road at 4.30pm yesterday (March 28).

Officers, London Ambulance Service crews and London Fire Brigade were called to the scene.

An two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and members of the Hazardous Area Response Team also attended.

The man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

Herbert Road was partially closed as the incident dealt but has since reopened.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.27pm yesterday (28 March) to reports of an unwell person in Herbert Road, Woolwich.

“We sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to hospital.”

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Calls at 16.20 - concerns for welfare of a man at a window in a residential block, he is back inside now. “

The full statement from London Fire Brigade reads: “We were called by the Metropolitan Police to an incident on Herbert Road in Woolwich.

“The Brigade was called at 1633 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1718.

“A fire engine from Plumstead Fire Station attended the scene.”
