Hypnotherapy is not a hoax!

From stages to sofa talks, hypnotherapy has transformed itself into a treatment which deals with our everyday worries and stresses. Far from being a way to captivate audiences into enjoying the act and voting for the hypnosis “magician” to win this series of Britain’s Got Talent, hypnotherapy can help with relationship struggles, weight management as well as sports performances and work struggles.

Covid-19 especially, was a time where we saw one of the biggest declines in our mental health yet. Although 10 Downing Street still seemed to shine party lights through their windows and drink glasses of champagne whilst laughing with colleagues, for the rest of England, we spent 6 months cooped up in our houses where Zoom became our café meet ups with friends and the only civilization we saw was from our windows, and the occasional bin man! It was a time of learning new skills, but more than ever, it became a time of stress, social anxiety and even panic and for some, that still has not gone away. However, for others, hypnotherapy Debono was their place to go!

The idea of being put in a trance and having to let someone else control your body and your mind is exceptionally daunting to even think about, let alone be in the room about to have it done to you! However, with “over 20 different kinds of hypnotherapy” as Marie Debono (a qualified hypnotherapist) noted, the benefits are endless. As Marie says, Hypnotherapy is far from “making anyone do anything you want.” It is a “natural state” where “the mind is able to empty any stress or anxiety that has been building up” and it has also been proven to “heal the body faster” as well as to help us “maintain a healthy immune system” and “promote a good, healthy, mental behaviour” – something we all still yearn for even after 3 years post Covid.

Parting ways with our troubles and anxieties can feel scary and intimidating at first. For many of us, our worries are bottled up in a safe, enclosed in our brain and only for our pondering “pleasure.” However, hypnotherapy allows those thoughts time to be aired. It allows you to face them head on, knowing, that, in the end, Christmas can come early, and gift you with solutions to your worries.
