Poke House Salmon Tataki special: Be blown away - review

I come from Leeds, and weirdly it’s not as much of a ‘thing’ there as it is in London.

So, since I've moved, I've become an addict and I can't get enough of it.

I love sushi and Japanese food - and poke bowls are pretty much a pile up of everything you like and want to eat in one bowl.

What could possibly be better?!

When I first moved here, I stumbled across Poke House and it immediately became my favourite place to get an easy lunch or dinner from.

There’s so much choice, it’s all so fresh, and you could go in everyday of the week and have a completely different poke bowl each time that is just as delicious as the time before.

This month, Poke House has a limited edition fish, and it’s the Salmon Tataki.

I love any kind of tataki at any sushi restaurant, so when I saw this was the special for this month I couldn’t help but resist.

And, wow. I'm so glad I tried it.

It tastes just as it is described by Poke House – flaming fresh, soft, delicate and lightly smoked.

It’s made by flaming fresh salmon with soy sauce and sesame oil which gives it its slightly smoky taste.

It’s only available in March across all stores, and you don't have long left - so get hooked while you can.

Vittoria Zentti, co-founder of Poke House, recommends pairing the salmon Tataki with avocado, almonds and ponzu dressing.

I’m not a huge fan of almonds, so I had mine without, but the pairing with avocado and ponzu was perfect.

I also had some corn, radish and edamame beans along with my rice base.

It was the perfect lunch for when I'm busy working and don't have much time to cook.

Poke House offers four bases, 10 proteins, 20 greens, 13 sauces, seven crispy toppings available across every bowl, so there’s endless flavoursome yet healthy options for everyone.

As far as proteins in a poke bowl go, this is one of the best I’ve had.
