With artifacts dating back 2 million years, there's a lot to see and discover at this supreme museum. If you don't know where to start, the museum has several tours you can take depending on what your interests are which will navigate you through worlds like the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians or Britain's colonial past. If you've got the kids in tow, head to the Families Desk (open weekend and school holidays 10am-12.30pm; 1.15pm-4.30pm) to collect an explorer trail kit and look out for events and activities designed for young minds.

Opening Hours: Daily, 10am-5pm; Friday until 8.30pm

Tickets: Free but booking advised

Address: Great Russell Street, WC1B 3DG

5 Valentines Day

Love it, hate it, ignore it, embrace it. Whatever, Valentines is back again and as always is an excuse to grab the one or ones closest to you and go out for a night or to single-mindedly get on with life. Loved up? A romantic dinner for two at the Old Royal Navy College's Painted Hall would make knees weak, and any of these dreamy venues would do the trick too. Not in love? Treat yourself to a banya style sauna at Banya No. 1 in Chiswick or Hoxton, or lash out for a treatment and a steam at Aire baths. You could also herd up your posse and head to the Natural History Museum's silent disco, or to ABBA Voyage. Zero cares? Cult classic True Romance is screening at Picturehouse Central
