An elderly woman died after firefighters rescued her from a burning building.
The London Fire Brigade was called to a maisonette in Netherhall Gardens, Hampstead, at 7.15pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, January 31).
The brigade alerted police at 7.32pm. Met Police officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus brought the woman out of the address and she received immediate medical care.
Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Efforts are under way to locate and inform her next of kin.

The fire was under control by 8.36pm.
Part of the four-roomed maisonette on the ground and first floors of a converted semi-detached house was damaged.
The cause is yet to be determined. A cordon will remain in place while an investigation is carried out.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from West Hampstead and Kentish Town fire stations attended the scene.
