Grey, monotonous dreary - how most of us would probably describe a pavement. Not that one would every be asked to describe a pavement. After all, what is a pavement for, but to be trodden underfoot.

However, this ignorant tranquility is soon shatered whenever you're in a rush, pushing a pram, or just downright clumsy. Chances are, you'll brush yourself off, and go on with your day.

Although pavements can seem to be littered with chasm-like gaps and abrupt changes in heigt; their mundane nature has meant that changing this appears frivolous - especially when the hazards presented is usually not that egregious.

However, these can often add up, and, for certain users of our streets, the change could respresent a crucial upgrade. This is why Richmond upon Thames Council have their online reporting system.

It's as easy as it sounds, submit an application online (you can find the link here). As insignifigant as pavements usually are, at least it bears the posibility of improving a small section of our lives.
