NHS South East London saw 329,000 same day GP appointments across services in October 2022, according to the latest data.

Data from South East London’s Integrated Care Board shows that approximately 811,000 appointments were made in October 2022 across south east London, with 329,000 carried out on the same day.

The Integrated care board is a newly created statutory body which supports and builds upon existing health and care partnerships.

NHS South East London will oversee the work of the Integrated Care System NHS body and make decisions on allocating resources and planning services, including improving outcomes, tackle inequalities, enhance productivity and support social and economic development. 

The latest data also shows that 70,000 appointments were carried within one day of booking and 183,000 were carried within two to seven days.

121,000 were carried out within eight to 14 days, 60,000 were carried out within 15 to 21 days, and 29,000 were carried out within 22 to 28 days.

18,000 appointments were seen to 28 days or later, and 689 appointments were ranked as “unknown”.

Out of the 811,000 appointments across south east London during October 2022, 519,000 were face-to-face, 268,000 were via telephone calls 4,370 were home visits, 132 were video or online and 19,000 are unknown.

The data also found that the most common appointment booked in south east London was centred around general consultation routes, which totalled at 38.5 per cent of appointments.

Nationally, general consultation routine appointments was the most common type of appointment booked and sat at 30.7 per cent during October 2022.

36.1 million appointments were estimated to have happened in October 2022 across the UK, of which four million were Covid vaccinations.

An estimated eight million appointments were done through telephone calls nationally – 23 million appointments were carried out face-to-face.
