Parmiter’s School in Garston, Hertfordshire, kicked off the festive season with their Parents’ Association organising their annual Christmas Gift Fair, on Saturday the 19th of November.

Last Saturday, Parmiter’s School hosted a festive atmosphere with more than 50 stallholders, selling gifts for everyone. Students, parents and carers, siblings and visitors all got involved in the Fair, whether it was playing games for prizes, doing Christmas shopping or enjoying festive treats.

Parmiter’s students who came into school on a Saturday would be in agreement with Mr Clark, a teacher at Parmiter’s School as he described the event as ‘Bringing the school to life on a Saturday afternoon.' The energy that spanned the school site was cultivated by the spirit of supporting small businesses as well as the school itself. Sophie Lea, a student at Parmiter’s described the event as a ‘fun and festive day, it was great to walk around and browse, with Christmas music playing, and seeing lots of smiling faces!’ Although it is only November, this event has allowed members of the Parmiter’s community to start Christmas shopping and provides an entertaining day out for all.

The Parents’ Association organises and holds a number of events for the school, with the Christmas Gift Fair bringing a remarkable close to the year of events they’ve completed. The effort and organisation put in by the Parents’ Association is displayed in the truly enjoyable event that ran smoothly from 11am to 4pm.

Parmiter’s own choir sang carols to fill the school with the sound of the festive season as well as the classic Christmas songs from the speakers. In addition, Parmiter’s students ran stalls raising money for The Peace Hospice Care and Charlie’s Gift, truly contributing to Parmiter’s community.

The Headmaster, Mr Jones, summarised the Fair simply as ‘amazing’ and anyone who visited the Fair would be in absolute agreement: if you weren’t able to get involved this year, don’t miss out next November!
