A new, British restaurant is set to open its doors at the end of November in the recently restored Bromley Old Town Hall, celebrating British heritage through its food.

Dorothy and Marshall will officially open on November 29 with an all-day dining restaurant and bar with British, locally sourced, seasonal food

A spokesperson for Dorothy and Marshall said: “This stunning Grade II listed building, completed in 1907, has been sensitively restored.

“The dining room pays homage to the building’s history with awe-inspiring, soaring ceilings and expansive radius windows along one side that bathe the room in natural light, perfect for midweek lunch and weekend brunch diners.

“The wood-panelled room gives the space an intimate feel that is matched by cosy tones of burnt-orange and green, creating a perfect ambiance for evening dinner service and cocktails.

“Touches of bronze in the lighting fixtures and wooden flooring also add to the charm, while the back wall are adorned with pictures and paintings portraying community life over the years.”

Some dishes that diners can expect to see include: Fish and chips; smoked ham hock terrine with toasted sourdough and homemade piccalilli; homemade Trenchmore beef burger on toasted brioche bun with smoked bacon, melted cheddar and truffled fries; baby artichoke, heritage tomatoes with Ragstone goat’s cheese; sticky toffee pudding and more.

Leading the kitchen is local chef Ralph Jones.

Jones has worked with some of the world’s most renowned chefs, including Chris Galvin, Marco Pierre White, Garry Hollihead and Eric Chavot.

A spokesperson for Dorothy and Marshall added: “His commitment to quality along with his innovative twists on the classics make him the perfect fit for Dorothy and Marshall’s kitchen.”

Mixologist, Cyan Wong, has created a list of innovative cocktails that covers the classics as well as new concoctions inspired by the local area.

For example, the Rebel Rebel is a nod to legend David Bowie who grew up in Bromley while the British Negroni uses local and British products in this much-loved drink.
