Mr Bean star Rowan Atkinson will perform at Highgate's very own classical music festival to raise funds for north London charity Food Bank Aid.
The December 9 concert will see the comic actor reading extracts from Schubert's letters alongside the composer's works played by violinist Benjamin Gilmore, cellist Ashok Klouda and pianist Simon Callaghan.
The fundraiser is part of Highgate International Chamber Music Festival's 10th anniversary programme, with top musicians playing 10 festive candlelit concerts in St Anne's Church - followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
Proceeds will go towards the grass-roots charity which acts as a central hub to collect and deliver donations to partner food banks in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Haringey and Islington.
The festival was founded in 2012 by Highgate musicians Ashok and Natalie Klouda and Irina Botan to present varied programmes of masterworks alongside lesser-known gems.
Past performers include Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Nicola Benedetti, and this year contributors include double bassist Chi-chi Nwanoku, clarinettist Julian Bliss, cellist Gemma Rosefield, and pianist Katya Apekisheva.
"We are thrilled and honoured to be joined by so many leading chamber musicians and soloists from around the world to celebrate HICMF's 10th anniversary festival," said Ashok Klouda.
"What's unique about the festival is the atmosphere - the combination of top class musicians playing together in combinations not heard elsewhere, and the strong sense of community that has become synonymous with the festival over the past ten years thanks to our loyal audience - all in the beautiful, intimate setting of St Anne's Church.
"With 10 concerts exploring music by masters old and new, a variety in each programme, and even Rowan Atkinson reading Schubert's letters, there is something for everyone."
The 2022 festival sees 29 musicians from the UK, USA, Austria, Germany and Croatia performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Faure, Schumann, Ralph Vaughan-Williams and Mendelssohn among more unusual compositions by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Croatian composer Dora Pejačević, the premiere of Natalie Klouda's Piano Quintet, and improvisation around Corelli's Violin sonatas by violinist Thomas Gould, and award-winning jazz pianist Gwilym Simcock.
Highgate International Chamber Music Festival runs December 7-11 at St Anne's, Highgate West Hill. Tickets £20 per adult with under 16s free with a paying adult. Bookings https://www.chambermusicfestival.co.uk/or TicketSource on 0333 666 3366 4.
