A woman has died following a crash on the A2 this morning.

Police were called at 2.45am today (November 12) to a crash on the A2 close to Dartford Heath.

Emergency services attended and a woman was declared dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed.

It is reported that before the incident, the woman had been travelling in a grey BMW which had stopped on the coastbound carriageway.

The crash involved a white DAF lorry.

The on-going investigation led to the road being closed in the early hours of this morning and was reopened at 10.15am.

Police are appealing for information and dashcam footage.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Police are appealing for information and dashcam footage after a pedestrian died following a collision on the A2.

“The incident happened at around 2.45am on Saturday 12 November 2022, at a location close to Dartford Heath on the London-bound carriageway.

“Officers and ambulance crews attended, and a woman was declared deceased at the scene.

“Her next of kin have been informed.

“The collision involved a white DAF lorry and it is reported that prior to the incident the woman had been travelling in a grey BMW which had stopped on the coastbound carriageway.

“An investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is ongoing, which has led to the road being closed. The coast-bound route was reopened at 10.15am.

“Motorists who were travelling in both directions of the A2 are urged to check for any dashcam footage, which may assist the investigation.
