Many people I have spoken to have been injured recently from high performance sports including karate running and rugby. Recently after the lockdown ended many children have been gradually getting back into contact and team sports but the rise in sports has also brought in the rise in injuries, some which can be fatal. Although doing a sprot and partaking in a hobby can be extremely good for your mental and physical health there can also be many downsides to it once injured. During September around the 9th two of my close friends on consecutive days both broke their collar bones during a rugby match. Both friends were playing at two different clubs including beckinham rugby club and old colfians both got away with a not so bad but still nasty fracture to the collar bone but later that week one found out the fracture was a lot worse than it seemed and if want treated at once could end up fatal. These two incidents show just how dangerous sports can be to the lives of young children.

I also interviewed a girl from my school Eden squires, and she said how during running she “tore a muscle “she said this not only affects her physical health but mental too as now she finds it difficult to do many things she used to and inhibits her from going on these runs she loves.

Maybe we should take more of a precaution and do these sports at our own risk with the knowledge that some injuries are fatal and can stop you from playing these sports you love most.
