A man has been left with life-changing injuries after being stabbed in Penge.
The incident happened in Franklin Road just after 2.30pm yesterday (November 8).
Officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended and found a 68-year-old man injured.
He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment.
His injuries were assessed as non-life threatening but potentially life-changing.
A crime scene was initially put in place to determine how the man sustain his injuries.
A spokesperson for Met Police confirmed today (November 9) that he was found with stab wounds.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote reference 4088/08NOV.
Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 2.32pm on Tuesday, 8 November police were called to Franklin Road, SE20 following reports that a man was injured in the street.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
“The man – who is believed to be aged 68 – was found with stab wounds and was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening but potentially life changing.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine how the man sustained his injuries.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101, giving the reference 4088/08NOV.
“Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
