THE driver of a car has been taken to hospital after a crash with a bus in Lewisham.

The incident happened in Lee High Road just before 4.15pm today (October 31).

Officers, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade were called to the scene.

The driver, who was a man, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

His condition has been assessed as not life-threatening.

The bus stopped at the scene.

No arrests have been made following the incident.

Belmont Hill and Clarendon Rise were also closed following the incident, according to AA maps. 

The roads have reopened since. 

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said : “We were called at 16:12hrs on Monday, 31 October to reports of a collision involving a bus and a car in High Street, Lewisham. 

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade. 

“The driver of the car was taken to hospital. His condition was assessed as not life-threatening. 

“The bus stopped at the scene. 

“There were no arrests and officers arranged for the vehicles to be recovered.”
