This Winter, many families and households will find themselves struggling to keep up with household bills as a result of the current  energy crisis.

In response , the Epsom Methodist Church will be launching a programme called 'Warm Wednesdays' in an effort to help support those households as they fall upon hard times.

'Warm Wednesdays' will be running every Wednesday from the second of November all the way up to the end of February next year and will provide struggling households with a warm and loving environment, hot food and drinks, a place to enjoy themselves and more!

This programme is a result of Churches in Epsom and Ewell working together with Surrey County Council in order to support our community this Winter and help them to make the best of difficult times. Many churches across Apsom and Ewell are providing a variety of days for people to be welcomed through their doors and enjoy all that is on offer, so that households will always find a place to support them throughout this year's Winter.

As for Epsom Methodist Church, their Warm Wednesdays programme will entail their café, Roots, serving hot food and drinks from 9am to 2pm before offering delicious hot soup and bread rolls at 12:30-2pm. Then, at 2pm tea, biscuits and homemade cakes will be free for any guests to take. All of this is, of course, completely complimentary!

From 3-6pm, there will be a club for families and children to enjoy, which will have movies, games, books and  places to do homework, all to promote the creativity, enjoyment and education of young children whilst in a loving atmosphere. In addition, all those attending will receive a free hot meal to enjoy.

In addition to all the support on offer, there will also be professional advisers for people to talk to about energy saving, managing finances and more to help people get out of their unfortunate situations.

Of course, anyone will be welcome to stay for any time they would like. The aim of the programme is to provide love and support to anyone in need of it and if you or your family wish to drop by, you are more than welcome to. It is admirable of Churches in Epsom and Ewell to provide this warmth for all and we should all remember to help those in need in these hard times.
