Police are searching for him in connection with the double stabbing in Stratford on Sunday (October 23). 

He is 38-year-old Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino, and officers say he is known to “frequent” east London.  

This comes after two women were stabbed in Windmill Lane at about 3.35am on Sunday. 

Yolanda Saldana Feliz, 53, died at the scene, while another 30-year-old was taken to hospital.

Her condition is not believed to be life threatening and she is still receiving treatment.    

Yolanda’s family have been informed, and Scotland Yard said they are being supported by specialist officers. 

Mr Alvarez Florentino is sought as part of a murder and attempted murder investigation. 

Det Insp Aytac Necati, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “We remain determined to bring the person responsible to justice and we have been working around the clock during this fast-moving investigation. 

“We have carried out a number of enquiries, including reviewing hours of CCTV, door knocking and forensics.

"However, we are now calling on members of the public to help us urgently trace Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino who we want to speak to in connection with the incident.” 

Det Insp Necati said Mr Alvarez Florentino may be going by a different name. 

Ch Supt Simon Crick, who is responsible for the policing of Newham, said: “I remain shocked and saddened by this incident and my thoughts and sympathies are with Yolanda’s family and friends.

"I also wish the injured woman a speedy recovery. 

“I know this has caused a great deal of concern for the community, but we believe the suspect was known to the victims and he is not believed to be a threat to anyone else at this time.“ 

After the stabbing, there has been an increased police presence in the Windmill Lane area.
