THE driver of a car has died after crashing into a fence in Dartford.  

A silver Toyota RAV4 was travelling on Green Street Green Road before it left the carriageway and crashed into a fence at 4.45pm yesterday.

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.  

The driver, a man in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Witnesses are sought following a fatal collision in Dartford. 

“At around 4.45pm on Tuesday 25 October 2022, a silver Toyota RAV4 was travelling on Green Street Green Road from Darenth towards Longfield, when it left the carriageway and collided with a fence. 

“Officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service. 

"The driver, a man in his 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

“Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is carrying out enquiries and officers are appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward. 

“Anyone with information should call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538, or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference MM/SW/118/22.”
