A Met Police officer from Barking is one of two who appeared in court charged with driving offences after a 25-year-old woman was hit by a patrol car and killed.
Shante Daniel-Folkes, from West Norwood was struck by the vehicle in Stockwell Road, Brixton, as it was answering an emergency call at around 11.20pm on June 9.
PC Nadeem Patel, 27, of Barking, and PC Gary Thomson, 30, of Haywards Heath, West Sussex, stood together in the dock at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday (October 17).
Patel did not make a plea to a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
Thomson pleaded not guilty to a charge of dangerous driving.
The officers, who are both currently on restricted duties, were bailed and told to appear at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing on November 14.
The charges followed an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct, the court heard.
