A murder probe has launched after a man was found dead in a park.

Emergency services were called to Goodmayes Park in Redbridge on Thursday (October 20) at 11.14am.

A man, believed to be 60, was confirmed dead at the scene.

Enquiries are under way to contact the man’s next of kin and a crime scene is in place.

Police have launched a murder investigation and a man is currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Metropolitan Police says that a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
