A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Woolwich.

The incident happened in Brookhill Close just after 8.20pm yesterday (October 13).

Officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics were called to the scene.

The boy was taken to a south London hospital for treatment.His injuries were assessed as not life-threatening. His next of kin are aware.

A crime scene has been put in place as police investigate the incident. 

Anyone with information on the incident should call 101 and quote reference 7110/13OCT.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "At 8.23pm on Thursday, 13 October police were called to Brookhill Close, SE18 following reports of a stabbing.

"Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. A 17-year-old male has been taken to a south London hospital and his injuries have been assessed not life-threatening. The male’s next of kin are aware.

"A crime scene is in place and an investigation is under way.

"Anyone with information about the incident should call 101, giving the reference 7110/13OCT.

"Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
