BARCLAYS has confirmed the permanent closure of its branch in Blackheath.
The bank located in Tranquil Vale will close its doors on Thursday, November 11.
The British bank found that 46 bankers use the Blackheath branch regularly as the only way to do their banking.
It also revealed that 90 per cent of people who use the Blackheath branch, also bank by using its online services.
A total of 142 Barclays branches will also shut across the country by the end of this year.
The wave of closures comes as more bankers have turned to online and mobile banking, according to the Barclays website.
The nearest Barclays branches for Blackheath bankers are in 93 Lewisham High Street, SE13 6BB, and 131 Eltham High Street, SE9 1TJ.
