There has been increased police presence around Harlow as officers react to a “potential disorder” involving two groups of people.
A dispersal order was put in place around parts of Harlow town centre in reaction suspected anti-social behaviour.
The order was in place from 3pm on Tuesday (September 27) and lasts until Thursday (September 29).
Inspect Natalie Rooney said: “We have received information relating to potential disorder involving two groups of people in the Broad Walk area this afternoon.
“We have responded quickly to ensure this does not take place and to protect the public.”
It will mean police will have the power to direct people to leave the area if they are suspected of causing anti-social behaviour or disorder.
Anyone with safety concerns is told to speak to the officers who will be present in the town centre.
The order will be periodically reviewed and rescinded if appropriate, Essex Police says.
