Thousands of people in Harrow will soon be able to access a London-exclusive high broadband service.

Harrow Council has now teamed up with Community Fibre to roll out fibre broadband across the borough.

The new network build will start with council housing in Harrow, with work already commencing on Northolt Road in South Harrow and then continuing to Osmond Close.

It will then continue to expand to serve residents, businesses and the local community.

Free 1,000mbps broadband will be available at Grange Farm Community Centre and Northolt Road Community Centre as part of the new deal.

Cllr Mina Parmar, cabinet member for housing, said: "We welcome Community Fibre's commitment to delivering fast, reliable fibre broadband to the residents here in Harrow.

"A reliable internet connection is vital for those seeking new job opportunities or wanting to book GP services online, and we're delighted to see fibre broadband now become more accessible to all at an affordable rate."
