A suspect armed with a weapon attempted to hide from police in a Wendy house after a fight in Beckenham.

Officers were called to the fight in Durban Road at around 8.10pm on Sunday evening.

Two suspects armed with weapons made off from police.

A police helicopter and dog unit helped to locate two males who were found in the back garden of a home - one attempting to hide in a Wendy house.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 20:10hrs on 4 September to Durban Road, Beckenham to reports of a fight Officers responded.

"Two males were located in the rear garden of an address with assistance from the Dog Unit and the National Police Air Service.

"They were taken into police custody."

The National Police Air Service tweeted: "Just assisted @MPSBromley in #Beckenham searching for suspects armed with weapons made off from officers.

"2 located by us, 1 ‘attempting’ to hide in a Wendy house.

"Detained by the @MetTaskforce dog. 5 out of 5 in custody"
