Three people have been arrested after cannabis and cash were found within the petrol cap of a moped in Greenwich.

Officers who were on patrol in Greenwich yesterday (September 2) stop and searched the rider of a moped.

Within the petrol cap of the moped, a quantity of cannabis along with some cash was found.

Police say they also found a mobile phone which allegedly had numerous drug messages on it.

Whilst officers were searching at the scene, they found half a kilogram of cannabis along with another phone with drug messages on and a quantity of empty snap bags.

Two males were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

After gaining access into an address, police found a large zombie knife, along with more cannabis and scales.

Three people were arrested on suspicion for possession with intent to supply drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

A spokesperson for Greenwich Police said: “1 stopped, 3 arrested, multiple S18s Drugs and knifes Seized.

“VSU officers were on patrol, three unmarked VSU vehicles were able to implement a reinforced stop on the moped to prevent any pursuit from commencing.

“The rider of the moped was detained and searched under section 23 Misuse of Drugs.

“Within the petrol cap of the moped, a quantity of cannabis along with some cash.

“In addition to this, the mobile phone had numerous drug messages on it which clearly indicate that he is supplying drugs.

“Section 18 (1) PACE search located approximately half a kilogram of cannabis along with another phone with drug messages on and a quantity of empty snap bags.

“Whilst officers were on scene searching the premises both two males attended were arrested for PWITS also due to their immediate access into the address.

“Section 18 (1) PACE search officers located further cannabis and scales.

“Also found large zombie knife with a serrated.

“Arrested for possession with intent to supply drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.”
