Police are looking to speak to a man after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on board a Lewisham bus.

The girl was sat on the top deck of the 122 bus on August 2 at around 12.20pm.

It was travelling between Wearside Road and Lewisham Fire Station.

A man is alleged to have repeatedly approached her and tried to hug and kiss her.

The girl shoved the man away and he then left the bus.

The victim alerted her mum as well as the police about what had happened.

Officers have released a CCTV image of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises this man or has any further information about the assault should contact police quoting crime reference number 3829/2 August.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police: “Police have released an image of a man they're working to trace following an incident on a bus in south London.

“At 12:20hrs on Tuesday, 2 August, the victim, a 17-year-old girl, was sat on the top deck of a route 122 bus between Wearside Road and Lewisham Fire Station when a man is alleged to have repeatedly approached her and tried to hug and kiss her.

“The victim pushed the man away and he then left the bus.

“Her mother and police were alerted.

“Officers have released an image of a man they want to speak to.

“Anyone who recognises him should call 101 or tweet @MetCC ref CAD 3829/2 August.
