Three hectares of grass in Thamesmead have been damaged by a fire.
A fire boat, eight fire engines and 65 firefighters were called to a grass fire in Gallions Reach Park yesterday just before 4pm.
Fire crews from Plumstead fire stations and surrounding fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire was under control by 8.16pm.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Eight fire engines, fire boat and around 65 firefighters tackled a grass fire in Gallions Reach Park in Thamesmead.
“Three hectares of grass fire was damaged by fire.
“The Brigade was called at 1555 and the fire was under control by 2016.
“Fire crews from Plumstead fire stations and surrounding fire stations were at the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
