A man has died at the scene of a crash in New Malden this afternoon.

The male pedestrian had been in a crash with a lorry in Malden Road just after 3.05pm.

He was pronounced dead at 3.30pm.

Police enquiries are underway to identify the male and notify his next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

There have been no arrests.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has dash-cam footage should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 4799/21JUL.

The first medic arrived at the scene in under three minutes.

London Ambulance Service sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner and a paramedic in a response car.

London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 15:07hrs on Thursday, 21 July to reports of a collision at Malden Road, New Malden.

"Officers, London Ambulance Service [LAS] and London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] attended.

"At the scene a male pedestrian had been in collision with a lorry.

"Despite the efforts of medics at the scene the male was pronounced dead at 15:30hrs.

"Enquiries are underway to identify the male and notify his next of kin.

"The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

"There have been no arrests.

"Anyone who witnessed this incident or has dash-cam footage should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 4799/21JUL.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.06pm today (21 July) to reports of a road traffic collision on Malden Road, New Malden.

“We sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and a paramedic in a response car.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“The first of our medics arrived at the scene in under three minutes.

"Sadly, a man died at the scene.”
