A new borough anthem will premiere at a huge concert featuring more than 1,000 young performers and members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Brent Anthem: Sparks Fly was intended to premiere in 2020 and involves 1,500 performers.

It will be performed when Brent Music Service’s (BMS) biennial concert returns from lockdown at the OVO Arena, Wembley, July 13.

The evening is entitled There’s a Place for Us and will celebrate community and belonging in Brent.

It will feature over 1,000 young choristers alongside members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and hundreds more young musicians.

Thousands of primary pupils from 29 Brent schools composed anthems based on their experiences of the borough.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra then worked with 24 young musicians to devise a final anthem.
