A man has died after being found unresponsive in Southwark Park.
Police were called to Hawkstone Road shortly after 4.40am today (June 23).
London Ambulance Service crews also attended.
The man was pronounced dead at 5.05am.
His death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
His next-of-kin has been informed.
Officers say a post-mortem examination will take place as soon as possible.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 4.42am on Thursday, 23 June to reports of an unresponsive man in Southwark Park, Hawkstone Road.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.
“The man was pronounced dead at 05:05hrs.
“The death is being treated as unexpected but not-suspicious.
“The man’s next-of-kin has been informed.
"A post-mortem examination will take place as soon as possible.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
