A suspected burglar was found hiding from police in a tree after he was allegedly seen trying to get into flats via a fire exit.
A man was seen by a witness climbing the side of a block of flats.
He tried to grab onto the fire exit which gives access to all four flats inside the building.
Police found a suspect stuck between Victoria Way, Charlton and the building next door.

He then allegedly climbed back up the building and escaped through neighbours’ gardens.
Police later found a suspect hiding in a tree and arrested the man on suspicion of attempted burglary.

“Suspect seen to be climbing the side of a residential building.
“Seen by witness reaching to grab onto the fire exit which provides access to all the four flats inside.
“Male was found by police stuck between Victoria Way and the building next door, he then climbed back up the building made off through multiple gardens and was eventually located hiding in a tree.
“Arrested for attempted burglary.”
