British Transport Police has issued a statement following a police presence at Petts Wood station.

A train driver had reported hitting something online so officers attended the tracks near to the station.

After a thorough search, nothing was found.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Our officers attended the tracks near the station after a train driver reported hitting something on the line.

"They conducted a thorough search of the location, however nothing was found."
