Police have arrested a man on suspicion of outraging public decency.

A man is said to have been seen masturbating at the Royal Arsenal Estate in Argyll Road on May 5.

A picture of a man wanted over the offence was circulated to officers in the local area on an internal system.

Police on patrol in the Woolwich town centre on May 10 spotted the man and recognised him from the image.

He was promptly arrested on the spot.

Greenwich Police tweeted: “#Arrested 🚨 “Great spot by Woolwich Town Centre officer 👀

“A male who was wanted for outraging public decency was arrested after his image was circulated around the team.

“Officers spotted the male and he was swiftly arrested.

“#spaceforone.”
