The Marsden March is a walk organised by The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity designed to raise money for The Royal Marsden, which supports cancer patients. You can help to support it this year by walking from The Chelsea Royal Marsden site to the Sutton Royal Marsden site!

The Royal Marsden march involves fundraising money which contributes to the evolution of further life-saving research regarding cancer treatment, funding new medical equipment and building of new facilities, helping to provide vital treatment for cancer patients and improving the quality of care. Banham has sponsored the Royal Marsden since 2015 and has raised over £140,000 which help to fund this crucial treatment for patients.

Historically, The Royal Marsden was opened in 1851 by Dr Marsden and is the world’s first hospital which provides care and treatment for cancer patients. Etymologically, in 1910, King Edward the 8th named the hospital ‘The cancer hospital’ however this was later changed to the current name- ‘The Royal Marsden hospital’ in tribute to its founder- Dr Marsden.

The hospital is renowned for its excellent quality of care and would benefit colossally from the support of people like you, who help to save the lives of patients!
