A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died in hospital following a crash in Orpington.

Police, ambulance crews and London's Air Ambulance were called to the crash involving a car and motorcycle in Court Road just before 7.40pm on April 30.

The motorcyclist - an 19-year-old man from Gravesend - was taken to hospital where he died on Monday, May 2.

His next of kin have been informed.

The car left the scene before officers arrived but was located later on Saturday evening.

A 50-year-old woman, who was arrested in connection with the collision, has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who has relevant dash cam footage, to call 020 8285 1574, with 6500/30APR.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Officers are making a new appeal after a motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a collision in Orpington died in hospital.

"Police were called at 19:38hrs on Saturday, 30 April to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Court Road.

"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

"The motorcyclist – a 19-year-old man from Gravesend – was taken to a south London hospital where he died on Monday, 2 May. His next of kin have been informed.

"The car left the scene before officers arrived but was located later on Saturday evening.

"A 50-year-old woman, who was arrested in connection with the collision, has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

"Detectives from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.

"They are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who has relevant dash cam footage, to call 020 8285 1574, providing the reference 6500/30APR."
