A street's waste bins were given a train-themed makeover by talented children.

Epping Forest District Council's community, culture and wellbeing and estate and land management teams held a competition for young artists to come up with fresh designs for the new communal bins in Shelley Close, Ongar.

Children were asked to re-imagine the bins as train carriages and create a design for all of the bins in the store.

Judging was challenging, the final designs chosen were by Savannah Stanley, five, Scarlett Cooper, seven, Willow Leon, eight, and Lily Doughty, eight.

All received a specialist art pack containing a sketch book, watercolours, colouring pencils, paint brush and other goodies to help them continue their talents in drawing and painting.

The bins with their new designs are now in use in the street.
