A man has been taken to hospital after a fight broke out in Woolwich.

Emergency services were called to Brookhill Road yesterday (April 30) at around 8pm.

Officers say a man, aged 33, was found with lacerations to his neck and face.

His condition is not life-threatening.

A man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH).

He remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: "Police were called shortly after 8pm on Saturday, 30 April, to a fight in Brookhill Road, SE18.

"Officers attended along with LAS.

"A 33-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering lacerations to his neck and face.

“His condition is not life-threatening.

“A man was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of GBH.

“He remains in police custody. Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101, ref 6516/30apr."
