Many people may believe that forgiveness is the act of accepting that one has done wrong and relieving the wrongdoer of the guilt of having caused pain to you. However, it is important to forgive yourself as well, for it may be hard to let go of the wrongdoing that has been done to you and may cause you to fall into the trap once again.
Forgiving yourself allows you to heal. More often than not, people find it harder to forgive someone they know or care about, than someone that they do not know about. Sometimes, it may help to visualise the scenario in a positive light. For example, realising that you have learnt a life lesson of figuring out the signs of a bad relationship.
In conclusion, forgiveness is hard to accomplish and it may not be easy to forgive entirely but it may be something that is worth trying, as it may liberate you and help you to move on.
