May Day for most. Eid-ul-Fitr for many. Billions of Muslims around the world are gearing up and preparing for this day after a month of fasting for their Lord. Their hands raised to heaven, they ask God for goodness in this life and in the Hereafter, crying for the mercy that their Lord gives, during these few days that they have left before the end of this special month of Ramadan.

What is Eid-ul-Fitr?

This Eid (festival) is the festival after the month of Ramadan as opposed to the other Eid - Eid-al-Adha. On the Islamic calendar, this time of the year falls on the 1st of Shawwal. In the Gregorian calendar, this would be about either the 1st or 2nd of May for 2022, but it changes every year.
