Celebrating culture and diversity is one of the greatest things the earth has to offer. Being able to celebrate our differences instead of letting it divide is the epitome of humanity. That being said, what is your local school Reach Academy Feltham to celebrate our esteemed diversity? Well, I can proudly say, as a student of RAF, that one example of our school celebrating diversity is Ramadan.

Firstly, What is Ramadan? The Oxford dictionary defines it as “the ninth month of the Muslim year, during which strict fasting is observed from dawn to sunset”. Succinctly put, this means that Muslims observing Ramadan would not be able to drink or eat food until a certain period of time has passed based on the Islamic Calendar.

To that end, Reach has made sure that Muslims observing fasting are able to do so as safely and comfortably as possible. For example, classrooms have been vacated and allocated times to allow prayer to occur - away from any distractions or disturbances. Furthermore, while not specifically for Ramadan, Reach even celebrated a Cultural Day recently to celebrate all the diversity in the School. What fun!

In the end, no matter what walk of life you are from, or what you believe in compared to your peers - we should all celebrate our differences and eachother
