Discounts! We all love them. We all use them. They are a great way to get items for a cheaper price (although the percentage decrease is not that high).

On the 11th of April 2022, a large group of customers - it seems as though they were in the same age group of teenagers and young adults - lined up outside the Swatch shop located in London, Mayfair. They had bags at the ready, and they seemed to be eager to get in. When I apporoached one of the people lined up, they revealed that they were in line for “a discount sale”. With further research, I found out that Swatch was giving out vouchers and discount codes, which they have been doing for some time now.

Swatch is mostly known for its colourful and creative watches, with designs that suits everyone's individual style. They usually have appealing price tags and exciting collaborations. It’s no wonder that Swatch is one of the world's most successful watch brands.

On their website, they have been promoting their discount codes and vouchers, ranging around 10% to 30%. Clearly, this company knows how to attract an audience, which appears to be young adults. Having a look at the watches, they seem to be luxurious and attractive, hence why there was a long line of people outside. Since it was during the Easter holidays, it makes sense for the company to give out discounts codes as more people are available to go to the shop.

Overall, Swatch clearly understands how to attract an audience with their appealing prices and distribution of discounts.
