A man from Bromley has been fined almost £800 after dropping a cigarette outside a bank in Bexleyheath.

Arumugam Kupendrarajah, 70, of Bromley Road in Bromley, was ordered to pay £784 after depositing a cigarette outside Nationwide on September 16, 2021.

This includes a £440 fine, £44 to fund victim services and costs of £300.

The verdict was proved in a single justice procedure at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on April 4, 2022.

Section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applies in this area.

The fine for the offence must be paid in instalments of £70 per month starting from May 2.
