Londoners can expect some windy weather as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning across the capital.

Until 6pm this evening (April 7) you can expect some strong winds battling the streets with gusts of up to 45mph predicted.

The wind will be coming in the west direction and is set to cause disruption to road, rail, and air transport.

With some bus and train services most likely to be affected so you'll want to keep up to date with services via the TFL website.

Discussing the yellow weather warning a Met Office spokesperson said: "Winds will strengthen across central England this morning with gusts widely 45-50 mph developing and a few places seeing gusts around 55 mph. Winds will ease from the west from later in the afternoon."

Elsewhere for the weather today you can expect some sunny spells with temperatures not too cold at highs of 12C.

But you want to still bring an extra thick coat with the strong wind seeing temperatures drop quickly to just 6C.
