When we're at school we have to use great amounts of mental and physical energy throughout our day when we meet people, commute to school and, of course, classwork in lessons. In addition, we receive homework for after-school hours, and many of us have extra-curricular commitments such as sports and music- some may even be volunteering or have a job during the weekdays. Overall, school terms are often very busy and hectic, with lots of responsibilities and due-dates. However, now that we have two weeks to spare during Easter break, it is important to use this time efficiently.

Firstly, it is important to have a proper, well-earned break from work to avoid feeling overwhelmed and burnt-out for the next term. Whether that means going on a walk in a local park, going out for the day with friends, or even having a day dedicated to watching a new series on Netflix. Everybody is different, so try to find what best works for you, and makes you feel energised as well as relaxed.

Although I've stressed the importance of having a break during this two-week period, it's also wise to make a plan dedicated to any work or revision you need to complete. Try and see these two weeks as an opportunity to feel more prepared for when you go back to school. With this considered, I advise creating your own personal schedule, where you can ensure any revision and homework is completed. Similarly, you may even want to get a head-start on new knowledge topics which you'll be covering next term.

Furthermore, you could always look into signing up for virtual work experience or free online courses on subjects which you are interested in. This way, you can add skills which you learnt on your CV, by spending minimal time from home on a subject you're keen to develop your understanding on.

Another factor you could prioritise is your sleep. During school, may of us have to wake up very early. However, why not have a lie-in, without the disturbance on an alarm. By doing this, you're giving your body more time to recharge, leaving you feeling more refreshed and energised for new term ahead.

There are many other activities which you can pursue during the Easter break, so these are only some ideas to fill the extra time with.
