As many of you may know, rules for self-isolation with coronavirus have changed. I thought a person could choose whether to self-isolate or not even if they have symptoms. Test positive on a lateral flow or live in the house with a person who has tested positive. When I recently tested positive after the rules of mandatory isolation were revoked and I chose to isolate myself I thought did I really have to is this advised? OfCourse I wasn’t as my parents believed isolating to miss school as my parents believed since I wouldn't dare as mocks is rearing it’s is ugly frightening head round the corner it was to protect those I love. As far as I knew before people could just take a lateral flow test positively and think: that’s good to know I have Covid 19 and just carry on about their day. In reality if a person has COVID-19 resultant symptoms, tested positive on a PCR/LFD or is living with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 by the tests LFD/PCR, they're advised to stay at home. The guidance applies to those living alone, in related or unrelated groups or nomadic groups. With fever and cold like symptoms: a new continuous cough, high temperature, anosmia even if these symptoms are mild or viewed to be so the NHS says to stay home and get a test. Through my research of whether to isolate or not I discovered what PCRs stood for polymerase chain reaction tests.
