Sometimes, it feels as though we can't individually make a difference in battling climate change, and moving into a more sustainable world. However, there are many ways we can have a positive impact on our planet, no matter how small our efforts may seem.
For example, you can put time towards conserving energy in your daily life through activities such as turning off lights, travelling locally by foot and turning off technology devices when not in use.
Another way you can make a difference is by encouraging others around you to save energy. A way you could do this is by stating how you can reduce costs within your home, as well as contributing to a more sustainable planet, by conserving energy. For example, you can set a time limit for showering, reducing costs whilst simultaneously, saving water. Another example is becoming less reliant on radiator heating, which will reduce heating bills, or you could switch to solar energy, which reduces costs in the long term.
Lastly, you can raise awareness of the importance of becoming more sustainable. You could start a club within school, discussion groups with friends or even run an assembly on the importance of protecting our planet.
Even though it can feel as though our individual efforts are insignificant, they can add up to make a huge, positive impact on the world we live in.
