For many people Weybridge might just seem like a small town in Surrey where you go to pick up the necessities, however there is much more to it than meets the eye. It is a beautiful town, which is filled with amazing places to go with friends and family. Below are 5 different things you could do in Weybridge:

1. Go to the park

In Weybridge there are multiple parks, such as Churchfields Playground, Oatlands Park Recreation Ground and Boundary Park. These are all lovely green spaces to visit with friends to enjoy a picnic or to bring your children to play in the park.

2. Go to a café

There are many excellent cafes along Weybridge High Street, some of these include the traditional chain cafes like Caffe Nero and Starbucks. However, there are also many independent cafes such as Gok’s Kitchen, Valentina and Aromas Artisan Café. These are all inviting places to enjoy a drink and snack with friends, whilst being able to catch up in a relaxed environment.

3. Go to a restaurant

Weybridge is a great place to go out for a meal, whether it is for lunch or dinner. There are so many options to choose from with foods ranging from Italian to Thai. Some of the restaurants include Giggling Squid, Prezzo, Pizza Express, Osso Buco and La Casa. They all have a delicious variety of food, so there is something to suit everyone.

4. Go on a walk or take part in water sports along the river

One of the best river walks in Weybridge is along the River Wey. It is especially lovely to walk along in the Summer, when the sun is shining and there is a greater sense of community. It is a beautiful place to walk with friends, as you can take in both the scenery and catch up. You could also take a walk along the River Thames or even take part in a water sport such as paddleboarding. There are many places along the river which allow you to hire stand up paddleboards such as Paddle Up and the Elmbridge Canoe Club. Paddleboarding is a relaxing sport to do in the summer, enabling you to have fun with your friends and giving you a memorable experience.

5. Go to a museum

There are a couple of museums in Weybridge that you can visit, these include the Brooklands Museum and Mercedes-Benz World. These are both interesting places to walk around with your friends or family, allowing you to learn something new whilst having a lovely relaxing day.  At Brooklands Museum you can explore interactive collections of motor vehicles, aircraft and real-life experiences. You can also hear stories of the pioneering men and women that shaped motoring and aviation and get aboard Concorde. Throughout the year there are also multiple events and talks, which you can go along to. At Mercedes-Benz World, you can walk around the 3 floors of displays including legendary vehicles and Mercedes-Benz powered F1 cars. If you are feeling more daring, why not try a thrilling driving or passenger experience on the track.

I asked Leigh Long about her thoughts on Weybridge. She said that ‘Weybridge is a lovely town and has a lot to offer. There is a fantastic choice of places to eat to suit all tastes. I particularly enjoy meeting friends for coffee or brunch in one of the cafes.  A favourite of mine is Gok’s Kitchen.’

So why not take a visit to Weybridge and try out some of the incredible opportunities it has to offer, it’s a great place to turn a boring day into a day full of memories.
