A CAR driver has fled the scene after crashing into railings in Croydon.
Emergency services were called to the incident at the junction of Addiscombe Road and Park Hill Rise shortly before 11:30pm yesterday (March 16).
The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene before the arrival of the police.
Road closures were in place following the incident as emergency services recovered the car.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called shortly before 23.30hrs on Wednesday, 16 March, to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Addiscombe Road and Park Hill Rise.
“A car had collided with railings.
“Officers attended along with London Fire Brigade.
“On attendance, the occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene.
“Road closures were in place while emergency services made the scene safe, and the vehicle was recovered.
“No arrests; enquiries ongoing.”
