Drivers in Loughton may face disruption due to the temporary closure of a road for a month due to roadworks.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the extent of closures in Epping Forest and other restrictions that may be introduced until the works are completed.

All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months and the dates when the works will be carried out will be displayed on signs at or near the relevant location or on the one.network website.

Part of Debden Lane, Loughton, is set to be closed for a month from March 28 to allow mains replacement works to take place.

The closure is due to apply from a point approximately 125m north-east of its junction with Englands Lane for a distance of 160m in a north-easterly then south-easterly direction.

The road is due to be shut for 33 days and the alternative route will be via Debden Lane, Loughton Lane, The Green, Coppice Row, Jacks Hill, Wake Arms Roundabout, Goldings Hill, Clays Lane, Lower Road, Rectory Lane, Hillyfields, Pyrles Lane, Englands Lane and vice versa.

An order has also been made for a closure in Barncroft Green, Loughton, for blockage clearance works.

The road will be shut from a point 90m north-west of its junction with Oakwood Hill for a distance of 15m in a north-easterly direction.

Work is due to commence on April 8 lasting for seven days and there is no alternative route available.

Elsewhere in Epping Forest, Berwick Lane in Stanford Rivers is due to be shut for one day on March 28 to enable underground ducting works to be carried out.

This closure is due to apply from the junction with London Road for a distance of 240m in a north-westerly direction.

Motorists are advised to use London Road, Church Road, School Road, Berwick Lane and vice versa during the closure.
